Dana Point, Ca – Oct, 2016
We came to Dana Point (our home comp) loaded for bear and well rested with a 6 week break. As it was our home comp we set up a VIP area for our local friends and coworkers. Shuji took care of all the VIP cooking and entertaining and despite having enough food for an army we were swarmed. It seems half of the bike division at Shimano decided to ride over and join us. The rest of the team stuck to our plan and we turned in some nice boxes. I made a last minute judgement call on pork and it really killed us. Won’t do that again. Walked in ribs in a loaded field so we were happy with that. 38th overall. Next stop Indio! Since the comp site is next to the Ritz Carlton and above a beautiful beach it’s not surprising to run into the occasional star. We ran into Denise Richards early Saturday morning. If I find some time I will write up a story for the blog. You might find it entertaining.
